At AT&T, our Chief Technology Office (CTO) is the embodiment of innovation. We work to develop, design, plan and build AT&T's products and services - including the nation's fastest 3G wireless network, our groundbreaking U-verse network and one of the world's largest and most advanced IP backbone networks. Our teams conduct industry-leading research and development for network technologies as well as the applications that take advantage of connectivity. Not to mention our internal systems that support over 280,000 employees and millions of customers. This is where the magic happens.
There are five areas that comprise CTO, each key to our continuous innovation and overall growth:
AT&T Intellectual Property
AT&T produces an average of two new patents each business day. Our Intellectual Property group is responsible for managing this extensive portfolio, with a focus on enabling widespread access to AT&T innovations to enable new capabilities and business opportunities.
AT&T Network Planning and Engineering
This group is dedicated to the fundamental planning and engineering of our wireless, wired, broadband and backbone networks across the globe.
AT&T Architecture and Planning
AT&T Architecture and Planning is responsible for all wireless and wired network, server, systems and hardware architecture, as well as all wireless and wired product development and wireless product realization.
AT&T Labs
AT&T Labs, Inc. is made up of the world's best scientists and engineers, including experts in IP network management, optical networking technology, broadband Internet transport and delivery systems, wireless broadband networks, information mining and data management, and next-generation speech technology.
AT&T Security
Our Chief Security Office (CSO) establishes policy and requirements, as well as comprehensive programs to ensure that security is incorporated into every facet of our computing and networking environments and solutions provided to our customers.
